Nordsjøfestivalen i Farsund – meaning the North Sea festival- is an international folk music festival taking place in Farsund, Norway he last weekend of August every year.
The name of the festival refers to the focus-point of the festival; the music from the countries and cultures surrounding the North sea. The festival acts as a meeting place between musicians from different cultures, and music is shared and reinvented.
In addition to continuously working to bring the audience fantastic experiences with international artists at the top of their fields, Nordsjøfestivalen is proud to also function as an arena for networking between the artists coming to Farsund. Over the years we have seen many exciting interactions between professionals and amateurs alike. In Farsund you can get a closer look at your favorite bands, and maybe even have a one-on-one with your all time musical heroes.
In 2016 we will see the 18th edition of the festival. Amongst our artists have been musicians from Scotland, England, USA, Denmark, Sweden, as well as many of the greatest Norwegian artist in the folk music field.
